During the Sikh wedding ceremony, guests traditionally sit on the floor in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Sikh holy scripture. This is a sign of humility, equality, and respect. Sitting together on the floor reflects the Sikh belief that everyone is equal, regardless of background, status, or role. The floor area will be well-padded for comfort, and most guests will be asked to sit there during the ceremony. For elderly guests or anyone who may have difficulty sitting on the floor, chairs will be provided in the back. We want everyone to feel comfortable while still honoring the tradition.
